Even though it felt like the world was falling apart at the time, I’ve come to see in hindsight that loss makes us rich – if we let it. Rich in experience, rich in character, rich in beauty and rich in gratitude.
Losing people, for example, doesn’t really change the fact that, at one point, we grew side by side. As Ally Condie wrote: Our roots will always be tangled. I’m glad for that.
There is amazing wealth in nothing. I hope you hold on to that when you find yourself face-to-face with it. Be rich in your loss.
